I tried really hard to keep my "Spitfire" nasturtium from Renee's Garden alive. I really did. I let a lot of other plants die this year because of neglect due to the various happenings in the schizophrenic year that is 2010, but I made certain little "Spitfire" on my windowsill got attention, light, water--all the things good plants need. But I'm giving up the ghost. It's gone forever.
On the semibrighter side, the nastutium I sowed a few weeks ago isn't dead at Mr. Yogato, but I despair for its continued survival. DC decided that we would maybe get a standard autumn, which means goodbye to "Spitfire" soon.
Hey, there's always next year. One can hope the weather gods favour us with appropriate heat and precipitation!
I'm growing Nasturtium "Spitfire" for the GROW project. Thanks, to Renee's Garden for the seeds.

My Princess of India nasturtiums were awful. Apparently, this is not the Year of the Nasturtium.
ReplyDeleteMy self-seeded ones did great, probably because the ones that grew selected for local conditions; the spitfires pulled through, but it was definitely a struggle.
ReplyDeleteKenneth,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you participated in this and it has been nice getting to know you through your blog. I hope next year the weather and your schedule allow you to have more success in the indoor and outdoor garden.
