I am on my way to the Gesneriad Society meeting today (partly because it's at the National Arboretum, which is hosting the National Capital Orchid Society's show and sale this weekend, and I want to spend the dough).
Part of the Gesneriad Society meetings is a plant raffle. Members bring rhizomes, cuttings, potted plants, what-have-you to be raffled off/taken off. I have been to a meeting and received some nice new plants, but I wanted to bring something to share myself this time. I don't have many gesneriads that are at the point that I could dig them up or make cuttings of them--except for Streptocarpella "Good Hope."
It has been growing nice and steady since I got it back in March. It was given to me because I said my Episcia was about the only gesneriad that was doing well for me at that time, and Streptocarpus has definitely taken to The Indoor Garden(er). I looked at the picture I had taken for the blog post in March and compared it with what I currently have.
That's some nice growth!
So, I'll take a couple cuttings to share at the raffle. Mine hasn't flowered yet, but it looks like it'll be nice when it does!
